When Ally and Trent phoned to talk about eloping in New Zealand, Im not gonna lie, my heart was racing with excitement. I am incredibly honoured to have been chosen to join their families for such a special day.

Ally and Trent live in Central Qld Australia and only wanted a small intimate wedding back in Ally’s home country New Zealand where family still reside.   We spent the day before scouting for the perfect location on the waters edge of Lake Pukaki for the ceremony.  Following that we drove to Mt Cook for the pre wedding photoshoot! Hiking ,scouting and climbing for the perfect photos! They’re a very active couple that love the mountains, and the peacefulness that the mountains bring to them!  

Hiking was on the agenda and we shot from about 5 pm till sunset at 10pm, ending the shoot on Tasman Glacier Lake.  This allowed their special day to be focused more on the ceremony and family.  We did however head away for half hour for photos in the Lake Pukaki area (on the day) ! New Zealand you are simply breathtaking! 

‘The wedding turned out to be better than I could have imagined and our photos I love so much I don’t even have words for! Our priorities for our day were that we were both relaxed, happy and stress-free, got our photos surrounded by the mountains, guests enjoyed themselves, and that we didn’t spend a ridiculous amount of money on the day. We were incredibly lucky that we did manage to achieve all of these things!’

 The reception welcome for the loved up couple were invited in with Maori tradition, by Ally’s father, brothers and cousins by performing a section of a Haka “Te Ngeri o Houmaitawhiti” which is very important for our family and a new experience for a lot of the guests.’
