Not poses. The way you instinctively reach for each other. The way a conversation drifts off into laughter. The quiet language only the two of you understand.
So we build the session around something you already do. Making pasta badly in a kitchen too small for two people, ending up on the floor covered in flour. A Sunday morning that never quite gets going — coffee going cold, one of you still in bed at eleven, the dog taking up more of it than either of you. Or a drive out of town to see where the road goes.
Some sessions are calm. Some are chaotic. All that matters is that it feels like you.

Where you'd rather be?
[ four ways to do this ]
It starts with a conversation. Not a questionnaire or a list of poses — just a back and forth about who you are together.
Some couples already have somewhere in mind. Others start with nothing and we piece it together. Where we go matters a little; that you feel comfortable there matters more.
On the day, nothing is posed. We move slowly and let things unfold as they would if I weren't there. You'll forget about the camera fairly quickly, and that's usually when it starts to feel honest.
So where do we go from here?

A headland, a city street, a back road with nowhere to be. I'll scout it, watch the light, and tell you what time we need to be there — the same planning as a wedding day, just a shorter one.

Your images, printed on fine art and bound, out on a table for people to sign. It ends up on a shelf instead of in a drawer, and you'll actually read it again — which is more than most cards manage.
It suits intimate weddings especially. When there are thirty people rather than a hundred and thirty, every message in it is from someone who really knows you.
Something to sign, and somewhere to keep it

Secret squirrel business, and honestly my favourite part of the job. I'll help you sort the timing, the light, and where to stand so the moment isn't happening with your back to it.
I can be there without being seen, and photograph you both properly straight afterwards while neither of you can stop grinning.
Give me a few weeks though. The nerves are worse
than you think and the good spots take arranging.
