This is not a photoshoot. It is a story unfolding in real time.
Set within the towering stillness of the Redwood Forest, this session is built around exploration, intimacy, and narrative flow - a couple moving through a day together, not performing for the camera, but living inside the story.
Here, love is not posed. It is felt.
The Story
The couple arrives with intention.
A map is unfolded across the bonnet of the car, fingers tracing routes, paths, possibilities. The day begins before the camera ever lifts.
They unpack the car slowly. A shared moment inside the car, music playing and quiet, jackets shrugged on, hands brushing, laughter in the in-between. They sit close, shoulders touching, the world outside momentarily paused.
From there, the story moves.
They walk into the forest together. They explore. They chase each other between the trees. They disappear into scale, small against trunks that stretch endlessly upward.
There is a picnic laid out on the forest floor. Food shared. Silence shared. A pause in the narrative that says everything.
Nothing is rushed. Nothing is repeated. The day is allowed to breathe.

Holding Space & Gentle Guidance
A central focus of this series is learning when not to interfere, and just as importantly, when gentle guidance is needed.
You will learn how to:
Read a couple’s energy in real time
Recognise moments that need space versus moments that benefit from direction
Offer guidance that feels natural, respectful, and emotionally safe
Support connection without disrupting it
This is about holding space first—and guiding only when it serves the story.
The Cinematic Approach
This session is photographed as if it were a film — scene by scene, moment by moment.
The focus is on:
Framing within frames — doorways, tree lines, car windows, negative space
Layered composition — foreground, subject, background working together
Intentional angles — low perspectives to emphasise scale, tight frames for intimacy
Movement and motion blur — to preserve energy, laughter, running, breath
Wide cinematic establishing shots paired with quiet, intimate close-ups
Natural pacing — allowing the story to unfold rather than forcing beats
Every image functions as a frame. Together, they form a sequence. A visual narrative that feels lived, not staged.
What You’ll Walk Away With
This experience sharpens your ability to:
Photograph intimacy without manufacturing it
Work intuitively with adventure couples
Honour the sacredness of space with couples
Capture rare, honest landscape-led moments that cannot be recreated
The kind of imagery that comes from trust, patience, and restraint.
