Mountain tops. Hidden ruins. Off-road adventures. Windswept coastlines. Drone imagery soaring above landscapes that feel untouched by time.
This is not a styled shoot.
It's an education experience designed to teach photographers how to create unforgettable adventure elopement imagery while delivering an experience couples will talk about for years to come.
Inspired by the wild beauty of Western Australia and the rugged southern coastline, this workshop is centred around storytelling, movement, location scouting and creating photographs that feel expansive, emotional and deeply connected to place.
Our backdrop will be the incredible Point King Lighthouse Ruins in Albany (location approval currently being sought, with workshops anticipated for September 2026).
Hidden amongst the rocks and bushland between Albany township and Middleton Beach, these historic ruins overlook the breathtaking waters of King George Sound and Princess Royal Harbour.
Built in 1858 as Western Australia's second lighthouse, the remaining stone walls feel almost forgotten by time.
Quiet.
Secluded.
Wildly romantic.
In fact, this remarkable location has even been featured in real wedding publications such as Hello May and is a genuine elopement location chosen by adventurous couples seeking something truly unique.
The kind of place that feels like you've stumbled upon a secret.
And can you imagine offering that experience to one of your own couples?
Because that's exactly what we'll be teaching.
Adventure elopements are about so much more than epic landscapes.
They're about creating experiences.
They're about helping your couples slow down, become present and create memories that they can feel every time they look back through their gallery.
The walk towards one another before the ceremony.
The anticipation building with every step.
The salt air catching a veil and carrying it towards the sea.
The final light of day wrapping itself around two people standing on the edge of the world.
The journey it took to get there.
The story unfolding between all the in-between moments.
Throughout this workshop we'll explore:
• Creating authentic adventure elopement experiences • Working with dramatic landscapes and changing conditions • Drone storytelling and aerial composition techniques (subject to approval) • Blending wide environmental imagery with intimate storytelling moments • Directing movement naturally within expansive locations • Using location, weather and light to strengthen narrative • Creating cinematic imagery that feels emotional, not posed • Photographing couples within landscapes without losing connection • Building complete elopement galleries that tell a story from beginning to end
We'll also explore how to scout locations, identify storytelling opportunities and create imagery that captures both the grandeur of a landscape and the intimacy of the people standing within it.
Because the best adventure elopement photographs aren't simply about beautiful locations.
They're about helping viewers feel what it was like to be there.
The wind.
The emotion.
The anticipation.
The adventure.
Attendance is intentionally limited to just eight photographers to create an exclusive learning experience with meaningful education, personalised feedback and plenty of shooting opportunities.
